Vice President Joe Biden will not seek the 2016 Democratic Presidential nomination, but he can still play a valuable role for the Democratic Party.

That's the feeling of UMass Dartmouth Political Science Professor Dr. Kenneth Manning.

Manning says Biden's first task is helping the Democrats win in 2016. "I think that he has a role to play as a widely-respected, knowledgeable figure who can help the Democratic Party when necessary, speak out on major policy issues, and make a little money for himself along the way," said Dr. Manning.

Manning says Biden will likely be in demand as a public speaker, at least for awhile after he leaves office.
