Police are investigating a double stabbing in New Bedford Sunday night.

Det. Cap. Steven Vicente says the two male victims were walking across a parking lot near the 200-block of Sawyer Street Sunday night, when two other men stopped them and demanded money. When the victims refused, one of the suspects pulled out a knife and stabbed both men.

The victims were transported to hospitals. One was treated and released from St. Luke's, the other remains at Rhode Island Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are searching for the suspects, described as a white male in his 20's, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt armed with a knife, and a black male in his late teens wearing a red hoodie.

Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 508-991-6300 ext 130.
