Two Arrested In New Bedford Drug Bust

New Bedford Police arrested two individuals Tuesday night after stopping a suspicious car on Ashley Blvd. and Coffin Avenue around 7 pm.

According to Detective Capt. Steve Vicente, when officers searched the vehicle they found seven bags of heroin and 5 bags of cocaine in two hidden compartments in the car. Arrested was 38 year old Angel Reyes Canchani of Hillman Street and 25 year old Jennifer Tavera of Lisbon St. in Providence.

They both face drug trafficking and possession charges.
