When it comes to the ongoing negotiations between the Demoulas cousins of Market Basket, State Treasurer Steven Grossman says if he were governor, he would have spoken out sooner than Governor Deval Patrick has.

Speaking on WBSM's "Taylor Cormier Show", Grossman, a Democratic candidate for governor, says he would have made himself available to the bickering family early on, even though it is a private business.

Grossman says he's very concerned over the future of the 25,000 employees at 71 Market Basket stores throughout New England, and hopes for a resolution soon.

Grossman faces Democratic opponents Martha Coakley and Donald Berwick in the race for the governor's office. The three Democratic candidates will face off in the primary election on September 9.
