Bristol County Sheriff Tom Hodgson is urging motorist approaching the bridge repair project on Faunce Corner Road in Dartmouth to do so with caution.

Hodgson tells WBSM News, the constantly changing traffic patterns are creating congestion and confusion, often leading to fender benders.

"When you're constantly moving barrels and the lanes are changing, depending on what work they're doing, it becomes even more important for people to proceed slowly and play close attention because things change," said the Sheriff.

One motorist told WBZ-Channel 4 that drivers are confused with all the barrels in the area, saying they don't know how to get out of the maze.

Hodgson is asking drivers to make way for emergency vehicles as best they can under difficult circumstances.

The bridge repair project is now in its second year, with work scheduled to be finished in 2018.
