February is a busy month at the New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center! The highlight will be on February 15th, when the Center hosts a staged reading of “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner." Heritage Center Director Laura Orleans will appear on Townsquare Sunday with Jessica Wilson of the Watermelon Alligator Theatre Company to discuss the event and explain a planned donation to the New Bedford Free Public Library.  Other highlights include a new exhibit entitled "Frozen Assets: The History of Ice on the New Bedford Waterfront," and the screening of a film on February 16th, "After The Storm: Lessons from the Northern Edge," which deals with the dangers of winter fishing.

Townsquare Sunday with Jim Phillips can be heard each Sunday at 6 a.m. on WBSM 1420 and WBSM.com. Townsquare Sunday is a weekly public affairs program highlighting non-profits and community organizations in the Greater New Bedford area. If you have a public event, festival, or neighborhood activity you want to publicize, submit your information here.
