The First Super Bowl Didn’t Even Sell Out
Hold on to your jerseys! In 1967, Super Bowl I, with the Green Bay Packers defeating the Kansas City Chiefs at the Los Angeles Coliseum, the NFL charged $6, $10 and $12 and still couldn't sell it out!
Fast forward to Super Bowl XLVIII in New Jersey next February, tickets will cost about $2,600 each. That's a big jump from last year when the most expensive tickets cost $1,250.
Referring to Super Bowl I, former NFL Commissioner, Pete Rozelle, admitted prices were steep at 6 to 12 dollars, but with today's adjusted inflation it's more like $42 to $84.
Incredible or what, dude?
