TAUNTON (WBSM) — A Taunton man will spend the next 24 to 35 years in prison after being convicted of raping and sexually molesting his three stepdaughters over a five-year period.

According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, Alexander Santana, 45, was convicted by a jury on four counts of rape of a child - aggravated by age difference, four counts of indecent assault and battery on a person under the age of 14, two counts of indecent assault and battery on a person over the age of 14, and one count of assault with intent to rape.

“The evidence presented at trial proved (Santana) first began molesting his oldest stepdaughter before then moving on to raping and molesting his younger two stepdaughters,” the D.A.’s Office said.

The abuse took place over the course of five years, between February 2014 and April 2019.

Following the prison sentence, Santana will be on supervised probation for another 10 years.

“I am very pleased the defendant was convicted of sexually assaulting three young victims, to whom he served as a father figure,” D.A. Thomas M. Quinn III said.

“I commend the victims for coming forward and testifying against the victim under very difficult circumstances," he said. "The defendant’s conduct was unconscionable and depraved. The lengthy sentence imposed by the court was well-deserved.”
