Seaport Economic Council

The Greater New Bedford area — including the towns of Dartmouth and Fairhaven — is set to receive more than $2.3 million in state Seaport Economic Council grants for projects relating to coastal access and the maritime industry.

After the city received a $1 million grant from the state Monday, New Bedford Mayor Jon Mitchell said the new waterfront public safety center should be completed in Spring 2019.

The Baker-Polito Administration awarded a total of $4,150,000 Tuesday for five marine infrastructure projects, including two on the SouthCoast.
