New Bedford Clerk Thwarts Knife Wielding Robber With Sword

A young convenience store clerk fended off a robber yesterday morning. A white male suspect attempted to rob the Lucky 7 Grocery store at 639 County Street with a knife, demanding money from the clerk.

New Bedford Police Search for Robbery Suspect

New Bedford Police are looking for a robbery suspect.

According to police, the suspect robbed the Mt. Pleasant Street Getty Mart at knifepoint around 8am Saturday. The 38-year-old female clerk was not injured, and the suspect fled in a stolen 1996 red Buick Century with an undisclosed amount of cash

New Bedford Store Owner, Neighbors Chase Down Would-Be Robber

Another store owner protects his livelihood against a would-be robber.

Police say a masked man entered the J&L Mini Mart on Maxfield Street last night, and grabbed the store owner, 55-year-old Juan "Nacho" Rodriguez, threatened him with a knife and demanded cash.

Wareham Man Charged in New Bedford Murder Case

Charges have been brought against a Wareham man in connection with the July 6th fatal shooting in the South End of New Bedford.

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office and the New Bedford Police Department announced today that 20 year old Darius Gamboa is being charged with murder, after officials say he shot and killed 31 year old Julio Barbosa outside of the 7-11 at Cove Road and Rodney French Blvd
