Official Recount Requested in Fairhaven Election

In a last ditch effort to save the town a few bucks, Board of Health candidate Peter DeTerra is calling for an official recount of the ballots from Fairhaven's April 1 election.

DeTerra's opponent, John Wethington, was sworn in before a glitch in the ballot count was uncovered and corrected, making DeTerra the rightful winner by only two votes

18-Wheeler Makes Mess of Fairhaven Power Lines

Traffic in the business district of Alden Road in Fairhaven is slowed down, and being re-routed for those headed north, after an 18-wheeler made a mess of power lines.

Fairhaven Police Sergeant Tim Souza tells WBSM News the truck, owned by Severance Trucking out of Dracut, snagged a low-hanging Verizon wire as it pulled out of the Baycoast Bank parking lot and onto Alden Road around 11:30am
