New Bedford Case Affected by Drug Lab Scandal Sent to Trial

A spokesman for the Bristol County District Attorney's office says 32-year-old Nathan Martin of New Bedford was ordered continued to be held on $25,000 bail in Superior Court this morning

A Massachusetts chemist whose alleged mishandling of drug samples has thrown thousands of criminal cases into question testified under oath that she holds a master's degree in chemistry from the University of Massachusetts, but school officials say they have no record of her receiving an advanced degree or taking graduate courses there.
