Summer Beach Reads Presents Stephanie Evanovich’s ‘The Sweet Spot’ [VIDEO]

Phil and I had the pleasure of hosting Stephanie Evanovich on the morning show last Tuesday. Stephanie is an author from New Jersey who just released her second book, "The Sweet Spot." It is actually the prequel to her first book, "Big Girl Panties," but she assured us that the two do not have to be read in any particular order.

"The Sweet Spot" tells the story of baseball player Chase and restaurant owner Amanda. Chase has a dirty, kinky little secret that Amanda accepts even though she never thought she would be okay with it. He is truly, madly, deeply in love with her and the fame might get in the way of their relationship.

Evanovich told us that she came upon the title of the book completely by accident, starting out as a joke at first. Her husband originally thought that it would be funny to call it "The Sweet Spot" because it's the part of a baseball bat that produces the most speed of a batted ball (I don't understand anything about sports, so I'm glad she explained this to me). Her editors approved and moved forward with the name!

After trying to break into acting for 30 years, Stephanie tried out the corporate thing and hated it despite the great qualities. She knew she needed the creative outlet to be happy. Well we are so glad she made that change because "The Sweet Spot" is sure to be a delicious read at the beach.
