New Bedford Police arrest two suspected purse snatchers who allegedly hid their loot in an oven.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says that a 29-year-old woman was jumped from behind and robbed of her purse as she was walking on N. Front St. Wednesday night.

The victim wasn't injured.

The two female suspects were seen running into an apartment building at 295 N. Front St. and officers began knocking on doors.

Officers were greeted at a first floor apartment by a male who said that two female friends just got into his apartment and were sitting at his kitchen table.

The women matched the description of the suspects and were positively identified by the victim.

Upon beginning a search of the apartment the officers found the victim's purse inside the oven with all the contents in the purse.

The suspects, identified as 25-year-old Robin Henry and 28-year-old Christina Ferreira, were scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday morning on Unarmed Robbery charges.

The women do not have permanent address and are reportedly from the Hyannis area.
