State Senator Rodriques: Many Concerns Over Legal Marijuana

State Senator Michael Roderiques says he has major concerns over the legalization of recreational marijuana in Massachusetts. Roderiques led a delegation of state senators to Colorado earlier this year, exploring how legalization has played out in the West.

Speaking on "The Barry Richard Show," Roderiques says the legalization has actually helped the black market to grow. "The street price of an ounce of marijuana was about $150 per ounce. Marijuana became legal. With all the taxes, and with the profits that these corporations make on the marijuana, the legal price for an ounce of marijuana is $250 per ounce," says Roderiques.

Roderiques says the delegation returned with nearly twenty areas of concern. He adds if voters approve a ballot question to legalize marijuana in November, the legislature will have to address their concerns after it becomes law.
