Special Patrols Continue Crackdown On Route 24 And Interstate 195

Mass. State Police say they deployed special patrols on Route 24 and Interstate 195 over the Thanksgiving weekend, arresting 13 drunk drivers, and issuing 288 citations.

According to spokesman David Procopio, speeding appeared to be the most prominent violation.  He said another drunk driver will be summonsed into court after suffering a serious injury in a wrong-way crash on the Braga Bridge.

State Police first instituted the patrols on 24 and 195 during the summer time, and vowed to continue them on holiday weekends.
