SouthCoast fisherman and fisherwomen had a strong showing at the 2016 Massachusetts Salt Water Fishing Derby, and were presented with trophies this past Saturday at a ceremony during the New England Boat Show.

The derby runs from January 1 until November 30.

Crystle Slavin of Dartmouth was the Women's Division winner for Black Sea Bass, catching one that weighed in at four pounds, 12 ounces.

John Clark of Marion was the winner of the Juniors' Bluefish Division, catching a 12-pound, four-ounce specimen.

Joanne Cameron of Mattapoisett won the Women's Dolphin Division with a 17-pound catch.

Two Wareham residents were also winners, as Joseph Pearle won the Juniors' Scup Division with a two-pound, nine-ounce fish, and Ashley Brown won the Women's Tautog with a 10-pound, 13-ounce catch.
