Three Naval officers hand-delivered three medals to Roland Levesque of Somerset during his 85th birthday party last weekend. Levesque tells The Herald News of Fall River that the present was a 'shocker.' His daughter, Cheryl Ann Levesque-Medeiros, wrote to the Navy and asked that her father be given the medals.

Levesque served in the Pacific as a Navy SeaBee from 1944 to 1946. He said the medals were in his car when it was stolen in 1951 while he was at work in a city textile mill. Levesque didn't see combat, but he lost his brother, Marcel, who served in the Army in Europe.
