Sneaker Robbed Arrested

A 21 year old New Bedford man had his sneakers ripped from his feet late Saturday afternoon near the downtown bus station. According to Capt. Steve Vicente,  Police were alerted to a man running near the bus station with a pair of sneakers in his possession. They chased the suspect to his home on Elm Street where they found the sneakers as well as a folding pocket knife in his possession.

Police determined the suspect had taken the sneakers off the feet of a man who got out of a cab at the bus station. He also punched & kicked the victim several times before stealing the sneakers.

Police arrested 29 year old Sean Everson of Elm Street and charged him with armed robbery and carrying a  dangerous weapon, a knife. He was arrainged in district court.
