Smokey Wareham Fire

A fire at High and Dry Storage at 3160 Cranberry Highway in Wareham across from the Lobster Pot Restaraunt around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday afternoon kept Onset firefighters busy. The fire caused extensive damage to the un occupied building and closed down Rt.6 and Rt. 28 for a period of time. Onset Fire Department Acting Chief Raymond Goodwin said that they got a report from a passer-by that there was heavy smoke coming out of the building and when crews arrived at the scene, they found a lot of smoke pushing out of the eaves and other parts of the building. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
