Senator Dianne Feinstein To Propose Assault Weapon Ban Bill

In the wake of all of the deadly shootings that have taken place not only this year, but in recent time, Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein is proposing a bill to make it illegal to own assault weapons.

The most recent deadly shooting has pushed the limit for most people. The victims of Sandy Hook Elementary School were attacked with a high powered assault rifle. A rifle that was legally owned by shooter Adam Lanza's mother, who was also a victim.

Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein is set to introduce a new bill that will ban the ownership of such high powered assault rifles.

According to CNN, Feinstein is ready to propose the new bill in January, once Congress goes back into session. While it won't ban the ownership of all guns, but it will make so people cannot own military style weapons.

Feinstein says they are crafting this bill with a lot of care, and it will be ready to go on day one of congress's return.

There was a previous ban on assault weapons that was put into place in 1994, but it expired in 2004.
