Massachusetts U.S. Sen.-elect Elizabeth Warren has met with Gov. Deval Patrick as she prepares for her new Washington job.  Warren was tight-lipped on many questions from reporters after the meeting. She wouldn't say which Senate committees she'd seek to serve on, nor did she speak about her approach to avoiding the so-called ``fiscal cliff'' facing the nation.

Warren later said she was talking to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid about committee assignments and wanted to serve on panels reflecting issues she talked about while campaigning.  She said she has to be more careful about what she publicly talks about now than as a candidate.

Warren also said she's opposed to across-the-board military cuts, but said reductions may be needed in some areas.  Warren said she's ``delighted'' to be one of five new women elected to the Senate.  (Associated Press)
