Authorities say a woman whose car was struck by a fully-loaded logging truck in Maine has suffered serious injuries.

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office says 72-year-old Helen Dobosz of Seekonk, Massachusetts, was driving through an intersection in Standish around 4:30 p.m. Friday when her car was hit on the passenger side by the logging truck.

She had to be extricated from the vehicle before she could be taken to a hospital for treatment. Her car was completely destroyed.

The truck's occupants were not injured.

An investigation is continuing.
