Security Upgrade Planned For Boston 4th Of July Celebration

YouTube

Those planning to attend the Fourth of July celebration on the Esplanade should expect unprecedented security measures.

Superintendent Paul Fitzgerald says he’s working with State Police for a plan probably similar to the one New York put in place for its New Years Eve celebration since 9-11.  He says it’s very elaborate, but could probably be implemented at the Esplanade.

It was reported that the Boston marathon bombers original target date was the Fourth of July, so it’s not surprising that after the events that transpired during the Boston Marathon that the city would step up it’s security measures.
