Fans of the hit show "Orange Is The New Black" can buy a piece of show memorabilia and help a local school.

Taylor Schilling, who plays the role of Piper on the show, got all of her castmates to sign a prison uniform shirt which is currently being sold on E-Bay.

All the proceeds raised will go towards buying uniforms for student at New Bedford's innovation school, Renaissance Community School for the Arts.

Taylor's father Robert, who serves on the school's governing board, told wbsm's phil paleologos he first proposed the idea jokingly.

"My first suggestion was a joke, I said 'well Taylor might be able to get a hold of a whole bunch of orange jumpsuits'" , said Schilling "then it occurred to me this sort of thing might work."

Schilling, said that after the cast and crew learned more about the fundraiser they were more than happy to help out.

"Some of them had some questions about what was this for," said Schilling "and I spoke to them and everyone was onboard."

Schilling says says there will also be two other shirts available that will be used to benefit the North Star Learning Center and the New Bedford High School Drama Club.

The E-Bay auction has raised $3,500 as of Sunday, according to Schilling.
