The Boston Red Sox re-signed designated hitter David Ortiz to a two-year contract worth 26-million dollars on Monday.  Incentives could push the deal to 30-million-dollars, according to the teams website.  Ortiz hit .318 with 23 home runs and 60 RBI in 90 games this past season.  He missed most of the second half with a right Achilles injury.

"Big Papi" has batted .290 with 343 homers and 1,088 RBI in his 10 seasons with the Red Sox.  The 36-year-old is a .285 hitter with 401 home runs and 1,326 RBI over 1,832 games with Minnesota and Boston.
