The Boston Red Sox continue to struggle at Fenway Park, losing the opener of a four game series to the Baltimore Orioles, 8-4 Friday night.  The Sox are now 2-5 at home to open the season.

Starter John Lackey surrendered ten hits and six runs in 5.1 innings and was the losing pitcher.  It was the second shaky outing in a row for Lackey, who lost to the Yankees last weekend.  Baltimore's Chris Tillman was the winner, going five innings and allowing three runs.

Infielder Jonathon Schoop was the hitting star for Baltimore with four hits and two RBI.  Boston hitters chipped away, but could never get "the big hit" to bring them closer.  Mike Carp and Brock Holt had two hits apiece, but the Red Sox left 12 men on base.

The Red Sox host the Orioles again Saturday afternoon at Fenway.  First pitch is at 1:35. WBSM's coverage begins at 12:50 with the pregame show.
