A year of turmoil for the Boston Red Sox will end with the teams first losing record in 15 years.  A 13-to-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays last night guaranteed that the Sox wlll finish below .500 for the first time since 1997.  The Red Sox can still play spoiler for teams in contention for the playoffs.  They will play the Rays this afternoon, then come home to Fenway for a series with the wild-card leading Baltimore Orioles, who are still in contention for the AL East pennant.
