According to a new list from Travel and Leisure, some of America's biggest cities are choke full of strange people. Providence, Rhode Island happens to be right in the middle of this list. 

When out in public we are all guilty of of a certain past time, even if you don't realize you're doing it. It's called people watching, and the good people over at Travel and Leisure have ranked the best cities in our great country to do it. Strange people are all around us, but some places seem to have more of them.

On a list of the 22 places in the United States with the strangest people, Providence, RI ranks at number 9. So how did it make the list? According to the report, people find city strange thanks to the large theater scene. You can possibly see a few strange folks at the new flea market on the Providence River Greenway as well.

Topping the list is the city of New Orleans, Louisiana. That is followed by Portland, Oregon, Austin, Texas, San Francisco, California and Santa Fe, New Mexico to round out the top 5.
