Wareham Police are asking for the public's help in looking for a man who allegedly robbed a local grocery store.

Wareham Police say a man walked into the Stop & Shop in the Cranberry Plaza just before 7:30 Tuesday night, demanded money from an employee, and claimed he had a gun. No weapon was shown but the man did drive away in a light-colored SUV with an undetermined amount of cash.

Witnesses say the suspect is about 50-years-old and heavyset, last seen wearing a black shirt or jacket, a baseball cap, and sunglasses.

Witnesses say he walked with an unsteady gait, and may have been drunk.

Anyone with information is asked to call Wareham Detectives at 508-295-1206.
