A New Bedford man is being held without bail after police discovered drugs, a stolen firearm, and large amounts of cash hidden in his apartment.

The Bristol County District Attorney's office says police obtained warrants to search the property of 53-year-old Fidel Fuentes as part of an investigation into a possible oxycodone "distribution ring". Police searched Fuentes' Clifford Street apartment Monday night, turning up over 50 tablets of oxycodone and 30 tabs of alprazolam, along with over 200 grams of marijuana with a street value upwards of $3,000.

Police also found a Sig Sauer P250 handgun reported stolen from out of state, with 12 rounds of .40-caliber ammunition, and over $17,000 in cash.

Fuentes was denied bail at his Tuesday morning arraignment, and is being held until his next hearing on November 13th.
