FALL RIVER - A Plymouth man is arrested in Fall River after his car became disabled on Route 24.

Massachusetts State Police stopped to assist the man after seeing that his Pontiac Grand Am had become disabled on Route 24 South, just north of Interstate 195, at around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police identified the driver as Joshua J. Silva, 42, of Plymouth, and found he had seven outstanding warrants for his arrest out of Plymouth District Court.

Police arrested Silva, who was found to be in possession of a loaded .38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver, as well as three packets of Suboxone strips.

Silva is charged with possession of a firearm/ammo without FID card, subsequent offense, possession of a firearm without FID card, improper storage of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, firearm violation with three prior violent/drug crims, and possession of a Class B drug, subsequent offense.
