An organizer of the petition drive to collect signatures for a city-wide vote on the City Council pay raise says the campaign is not going away.  Organizer Charles Carmo says volunteers continue to collect names in support of a ballot question, that would ask city residents to vote up or down on the 44% pay raise.

Carmo says some people have been reluctant to sign the petitions, fearing Councilors they know might retaliate in some way.    Carmo needs to collect about 6,700 signatures from registered voters, and they must be certified by the election office before a question can appear on the ballot.
