With the active roster set, ahead of this Sunday's season opener in Arizona, the New England Patriots have turned their attention to filling the 10-man practice squad with players they believe can help give their team the best look at their opponents this season.

On Monday, the Pats added eight players to their practice squad. Of the eight players brought in by New England, five of them were with the team this preseason.

Second year defensive end Geneo Grissom, second year linebacker Rufus Johnson, second year offensive lineman Chris Barker and rookies Devin Lucien (wide receiver) and Woodrow Hamilton (defensive tackle) are all back with the team.

The other three players added to the practice squad are running back Bishop Sankey, wide receiver Devin Street and offensive lineman Clay DeBord.

The most high profile of the three newcomers is easily Sankey, who is a former second round pick of the Tennessee Titans back in 2014.

The Washington product had limited success over two seasons with the Titans, including rushing for 762 yards and three scores. An off-season that saw Tennessee bring in power back DeMarco Murray via trade and 2015 Heisman winner and NCAA champion running back Derrick Henry via the draft helped spell the end of Sankey's time with the team.
