While many of us are sitting down to a home-cooked meal with all the fixings this Thanksgiving, there are a number of families throughout Greater New Bedford that won't have that luxury. That's why a group of volunteers began a Thanksgiving Ministry 17 years ago, and are now preparing and delivering over 2,000 turkey dinners.

Glen Parker, one of the founders of the program, tells WBSM News every single morsel of food is donated to the program.

The meals are prepared in the culinary department at Greater New Bedford Voc-Tech.

Parker says final touches to each meal will be completed Thursday morning, with deliveries going out soon after that.
