Operation Clean Sweep is celebrating another successful year of beautifying New Bedford. About 50 volunteers and the Whaling City Clippers helped out Saturday morning for Clean Sweep's final event of the season in Ward Four. Over 500 residents have come to help out in the Operation's seven-year history. Organizer Lynn Coish says part of what keeps her going, is seeing new volunteers come out to help every year.

Coish is encouraging more people to take part in the off-season planning and organization of Operation Clean Sweep, which will begin its eighth year of cleanups next April. To learn more about volunteering, visit operationcleansweep.net.
