One Hospitalized After Early Morning Stabbing

One man was hospitalized following an early morning stabbing in New Bedford.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says that at approximately 2 a.m. a fight broke out at Dublin’s Sports Bar & Grille at 1686 Acushnet Ave.

The fight appears to have involved several people and barstools and at least one knife were used.

Officers arrived on scene and observed the 20-year-old victim bleeding inside after sustaining four non-life threatening stab wounds to the torso area.

He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital in stable condition and is expected to undergo surgery sometime Wednesday morning.

The incident remains under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
