Boston 2024, the organization looking to bring the Olympics to Boston nine years from now, continues to lobby for support around the state.

C-E-O Richard Davey was at the UMass School of Law in Dartmouth on Thursday, making a pitch to the Southcoast Development Partnership, a group of business and education leaders in the region.

A statewide referendum on the Olympics is planned for next year, and Davey believes its chances of passing are pretty good.

Davey says "if you look at the polls, as long as taxpayer dollars aren't being used to fund venues or games operations which is what we feel, there's a lot of support around Massachusetts."

Davey said he also listened to presentations from Partnership members about locating Olympic venues on the Southcoast.

New Bedford has suggested the use of Buzzards Bay for Olympic sailing, while Fall River says the South Watuppa Pond would be an ideal location for Olympic rowing competitions.
