As far as presidential vacation homes go, JFK and Hyannisport are synonymous. Richard Nixon had both a Florida White House in Key Biscayne and one in San Clemente, CA. Gerald Ford didn't have a specific one but preferred golf and ski vacations in Colorado. Ronald Reagan enjoyed his ranch near Santa Barbara, CA. Bill Clinton loved Martha's Vineyard. George H.W. Bush has Kennebunkport, Maine, while his son likes Crawford, Texas.  As far as Barack Obama goes, he also likes Martha's Vineyard and Hawaii, as well.

One of the prettiest spots on Martha's Vineyard is the private compound near Chilmark Pond, with views of both the pond and crashing waves on the beach, just a stone's throw from where "Jaws" was filmed in 1975 and home to Obama friends Ted Danson and and Mary Steenbergen. This is where the Obama family spent eight days in August of 2013 and it is now for sale at $22.5 million. It is the most expensive listing on the island. It wouldn't fare well for he president if a republican purchased the estate, I suppose. By the way, just in case you're interested in buying the real estate, The listing agent is Thomas Wallace of Sotheby's International Realty in Edgartown, MA. The president and his family will be vacationing on the Vineyard in August.
