President Obama says there are no specific, credible terror threats facing the U.S. ahead of the holidays.

After getting a briefing at the National Counterterrorism Center, Obama said U.S. officials are always vigilant. He repeated a warning about a new phase in the fight against terrorism.

He said the new phase involves self-radicalized, "lone wolves" who are inspired by international terrorist groups. Obama acknowledged growing anxiety after the terror attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, California.

The President said the U.S. has taken extraordinary steps to improve homeland security since 9-11.  He said all threats against the U.S. are carefully analyzed and acted upon accordingly.

Obama argued that the U.S. has the top national security, law enforcement and military leaders in the world. He said the U.S. will remain alert but must not live in fear.  (Metro Networks Inc)
