According to the Wall Street Journal, a new study was done on NFL fans and the outcome doesn't look to favor the new England Patriots faithful.

A couple of Emory University professors closely monitored twitter during the 2012 regular season. What they found was that teams with the most unstable fans generally tweeted negative things, while the stable fan bases tweeted positive things.

The most unstable fans in the NFL happen to be fans of the Oakland Raiders, not the the surprise of anyone. The second most unstable fan base are the black and gold towel waving crazies from Pittsburgh. And the third place position belongs to the New England Patriot fan base.

One team that you would think would have a very unstable fan base is the Philadelphia Eagles, but the study found that the fans weren't that negative. As a matter of fact, they are the third most stable fan base in the country.
