New Bedford’s Veteran Of The Year Urges Better Treatment For “Young” Vets Coming Home
New Bedford's 2012 Veteran Of The Year says the nation should be doing a better job of helping veterans returning from the War Against Terror. Raymond L'heuruex says there are severely disabled veterans from Afghanistan and Iraq that are struggling just to get what's rightfully theirs.
The 66-year-old New Bedford resident and Vietnam Veteran currently volunteers at the Fort Rodman/Fort Tabor Military Museum and at two V-F-W posts. L'heuruex will be honored by the Veterans Transition House on Thursday, November 15 at 6pm at the Hawthorn Country Club.
