YARMOUTH - A New Bedford woman is scheduled for arraignment in Barnstable District Court on Tuesday and faces multiple charges after committing an armed robbery in Yarmouth on Friday.

According to the Cape Cod Times, 30-year-old Kathleen Lyons will face charges of felony armed robbery, felony assault and battery while armed with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery.

Authorities say that at around 7:17 p.m. Friday, reports came in that a robberry had taken place at the home at 71 Lower Brook Road in Yarmouth. Upon arrival, police found that a group of three men and one woman had robbed the resident's cell phone. The group shared a handgun between them and fled the house in a dark-colored sedan.

At around 8:45 p.m. Friday, Lyons was apprehended by authorities in New Bedford and found with a loaded 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun in her purse. Police say Lyons has an active license to carry in Massachusetts. She was then transferred back from the New Bedford Police Department and into Yarmouth Police custody on a $5,000 cash bail.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
