New Bedford Police[/caption]New Bedford Police responded to the area of Tinkham and Church Streets late tuesday afternoon to a report of shots fired.

They found 7 shell casings from a 45 calber weapon and determined the only thing that was struck by several rounds was a parked pick up truck. Upon investigation detectives determined the shooter lived in one of the houses in the area and 3 hours later police found a person matching the description of the shooter and found a gun in his possession with the serial numbers obliterated.

Police arrested 22 year old Okee Rodriquez of Spruce Street in New Bedford and he is facing numerous weapons charges in district court. Although the motive for the shooting is under investigation, it appears Rodriquez was shooting at a white vehicle that was seen leaving the scene at the time of the shooting.
