New Bedford Police Tase Shooting Suspect
Police located 10 spent casings from a 9mm firearm. The investigation determined that a neighborhood male was the intended target but was not struck.
Police pursued a suspect on Grinnell Street as he discarded a Smith&Wesson 9mm firearm. After a brief struggle, the suspect was tased and taken into custody.
He’s identified as 28 year old Christopher Fernandes of 1085 County Street in New Bedford.
The firearm was reported stolen out of Weston, Massachusetts in 2006.
Fernandes faces a host of firearms charges in District Court.
