NEW BEDFORD — Authorities in New Bedford are investigating a fire inside of a vacant home in the city’s north end on Sunday.

New Bedford Police say at approximately 11:36 a.m. Sunday morning, a report came in of smoke coming from the second floor of 126 Bullard Street.

Police say when emergency crews arrived on scene it appeared that wood had been burning and was smoldering as the New Bedford Fire Department put the small fire under control.

The home is under renovation and is currently unoccupied.

The incident is under investigation by the New Bedford Police Department and the New Bedford Fire Department.
