New Bedford is hosting many events as part of their New Year’s Eve festivities!

Some of the events that will be featured include performances, fire-eaters, jugglers, stilt walkers, an African drum ensemble, jazz orchestra, fireworks, and much more.

Here is a list of the New Year’s Eve events down below:

• The Seamen’s Bethel hosts an Ecumenical Church Service from 5-6pm followed by harpist, Eve MacFarlane, from 6:30-7:30pm
• The best Toe Jam Puppet Band concerts at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30pm at the YMCA!
• Family Magic Workshop with Jedlie’s Magic Circus, 5:30 & 6:30pm, at NBAM/Artworks!
• Check out amazing street performers, stilt walkers, jugglers, and fire-eaters with Overhead Arts & Cirque de Light
• Reception commemorating the 1874 visit of his majesty David Kalakaua, King of Hawaii, in the Ashley Room at City Hall, from 5:30 – 7:30pm, hosted by Judy Roderiques & Lucy Bly
• Winter Activities from the Buttonwood Park Zoo at the YMCA
• Jam out to music with DJ Anghelli in Wings Court 5 – 8pm
• Jazz Music with Jim Robitaille & Bill Miele, 5:15- 7:15pm, in Crapo Gallery at the Star Store campus of UMass Dartmouth
• West African Drum Ensemble “Kekeli” at Pier 37, inside from 7-8pm & outside from 8-8:30pm
• Ensemble Events Photo Booth at NBAM/Artworks!
• Folkies, head to Café Arpeggio from 5 to 8pm for an “Acoustic Concert” with Art Tebbetts, Back Porch & Fourteen Strings.
• Bill Harley children’s entertainer & storyteller @ Whaling Museum 5:30 – 6:30pm
• “New Bedford’s New Year” Photo Project in Wing’s Court, 6:15 – 8pm, with Ben Gilbarg/Visionary Communications.
• Youth Celebration hosted by AHA! Featuring Youth Orchestra String Quartet, 3rd EyE Cypher, Dream Out Loud Singers & other local musicians, 5-8pm in the Zeiterion Penler Space.
• FIREWORKS on the waterfront by State Pier at 8:30pm!

Note for parking in New Bedford on New Year’s Eve Fireworks:
PLAN AHEAD! This year’s Fireworks overlooking State Pier can be viewed from lower Union St. Union St. will be blocked off to vehicles from Rt. 18 to Water St for fireworks viewing. A cargo ship will be in port and as a security measure access WILL NOT be granted onto State Pier. Get there early! Show starts promptly at 8:30pm.
