New Bedford Man Found Dead of Suspected Overdose

NEW BEDFORD - A 53-year-old New Bedford man is found dead in a Purchase Street home Sunday night.

Local police and the State Medical Examiner's Office are investigating the cause of death, which is believed to be a drug overdose. Police say no immediate evidence of drug use was found at the scene.

Attempts to revive the man using CPR were unsuccessful. He was transported to St. Luke's Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after 9 P.M.
