The New Bedford Police Narcotics Unit took cocaine and fentanyl off the streets Monday night after an investigation into a cocaine distribution service being operated out of 131 Summit Street.

Police arrested Domaneik Fields, 22, of 131 Summit St., New Bedford, on charges of trafficking in cocaine, possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute and trafficking in cocaine within a school zone (New Bedford High School).

After a search warrant was executed, police seized 24 grams of cocaine, 7.4 grams of fentanyl, a digital scale, packaging materials, and $130 in cash at his home and on his person.

The arrest was made at 6:21 p.m.
