A New Bedford man was arrested Sunday and charged with breaking and entering in Rochester.

Rochester Police say the owner of a residence on Mary's Pond Road came home late Sunday afternoon to find a screen window in the front of his house had been broken out. The homeowner then went inside, and found 27-year-old David Breton, Jr. still in the house. The owner confronted Breton, who jumped out of a window onto the lawn. The owner then chased him and held him until police could arrive.

Once police were on the scene, Breton confessed to parking his vehicle around the corner and breaking into the house.

Breton was arraigned Monday morning in Wareham District Court on charges of breaking and entering in the night time, malicious destruction of property over $250, disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct.
